    ANKARA - State Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Motherland Party (ANAP) leader Mesut Yilmaz said on Saturday, ''ANAP Decision-Making and Executive Board decided at today's meeting that it will be more correct to hold elections on November 3, 2002.''

    ANKARA - Prime Minister and Democratic Left Party (DSP) leader Bulent Ecevit said on Saturday, ''we prefer holding elections next year to this year. But the most appropriate thing is to hold elections on time, that is, in April of 2004. As coalition partners, we have served Turkey in a great way. We have launched important initiatives. However, we will hold early elections before putting into practice some of them appropriately. It will not be beneficial for Turkey.''

    LEFKOSA - President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said on Saturday that Turkish Cypriots who were under Turkey's guarantee were advancing and recording progress in confidence, adding, ''the Turkish Cypriot nation have been reunited with peace and prosperity under the umbrella of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) that has become the symbol of peace and stability in its region.''
