    A cloudy day is forecast with rain and storms in the western parts of the country extending to the rest of the country in the afternoon. Winds westerly-southwesterly, strong turning gale force in the southern Aegean and Ionian. In the north temperatures will range from 2C to 14C in the Ionian islands from 6C to 18C and in the Aegean islands from 9C to 19C. In Athens temperatures will range between 8C to 17C and in Thessaloniki between 5C to 13C.

    [02] November 17 alleged terrorists to stand trial

    After reviewing prosecution indictments, the Athens Court of Appeal Council decided to send to trial on terrorist charges, all 18 alleged members of the November 17 terrorist organisation but said they could not be tried for attacks or murders committed before 1982. The three-judge court said all but one of the 18 must stay in jail pending trial expected to start in March. The one allowed to await his trial on bail of 30,000 euros , is Giannis Serifis &#8211;a trade unionist- who has repeatedly protested his innocence.

    Members of the political and social rights movement yesterday marched to the Koridallos prison as an indication of support for the only woman suspect, 40-year old Aggeliki Sotiropoulou, who is in the 20th day of hunger strike , demanding the same conditions of detention as other female inmates of the jail.

    [03] Economic immigrants- deadline for submission of documents extended

    Interior Minister, Kostas Scandalidis yesterday announced that legislation will be passed extending for another six-months the deadline for the submission of documents required for the issuance of permanent residence or work permits to thousands of elligible immigrants who could not meet the deadline which was due to expire today.

    The Coalition of the Left and Progress party has caled for the simplification of the red tape bureaucracy and the issuance of permanent residence permits to economic immigrants living for over 10 years in Greece.
