[01] Commission clears the alliance between Alitalia (Italy) and KLM
(Netherlands) subject to conditions
The European Commission has authorised the alliance between the Italian
airline Alitalia Linee Aeree Italiane S.p.A. and the Dutch airline
Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V. (KLM). The Commission authorised
this concentration during the first phase in view of the companies'
significant undertakings to promote the entrance of new competitors on two
hub-to-hub routes: Amsterdam-Milan and Amsterdam-Rome.
