[01] Commission clears the acquisition of sole control of TAT European Airlines
by British Airways
The European Commission has cleared the proposed concentration by which
British Airways (BA) will acquire sole control of TAT European Airlines (TAT EA),
a French company primarily engaged in the operation of air transport services
within France. The Commission has examined the impact of the operation
especially on the routes between London-Paris and between London-Lyon, where
both BA and TAT EA are currently active. In view of the nature of the operation
and taking into account the structure of competition on the market following the
operation, the Commission has decided not to oppose the concentration and to
declare it compatible with the common market and with the functioning of the
EEA Agreement.
