    [01] British MPs meet party leaders According to ORTAM (11.10.00) the British MP/s Andrew Dismore and Roger

    Gale, of the Labour Party and the Conservative Party respectively, yesterday morning had a meeting with the so-called state minister and deputy prime minister of the pseudostate Mustafa Akinci.

    No statement was made before or after the meeting.

    After meeting Akinci, the British MP/s visited the leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Mehmet Ali Talat.

    [02] Akinci meets Norwegian Labour Party leader KIBRIS (11.10.00) reports that the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee

    of the Norwegian Parliament, Haakon Blankenborg, met yesterday with the so- called state minister and deputy prime minister Mustafa Akinci.

    Blankenborg said that they will continue their efforts for the development of the bilateral relations between the pseudostate and Norway, adding that he will have contacts with the trade unions in the occupied areas.

    Blakenborg invited Akinci to attend his party/s general assembly in November.

    Akinci thanked him for the invitation and said that Blankenborg is an important member of the Labour Party, which is in power in Norway today.

    [03] Campus in Pakistan built by ``Kyrenia American University'' KIBRIS (11.10.00) quoting the Pakistani newspaper ``The Nation'', says the

    ``Kyrenia American University'' (GAU) has been building a $6 million campus in Islamabad, Pakistan. The campus will open next month.

    [04] One-day strike by 19 unions YENIDUZEN (11.10.00) reports on the decision of 19 trade unions to go on a

    one-day strike next Tuesday protesting the approval by the so-called council of ministers of the socio-economic package.

    The 19 unions are: KTOS, KTOEOS, KTAMS, DEV-IS, TURK-SEN , EMEK-IS, Devrimci Genel-Is, Petrol-Is, BES, Magosa Turk Genel Is, KOOP-SEN, YON-SEN, BEL-SEN, TIP-IS, CAG-SEN, BANK-SEN, EL-SEN, TEL-SEN and GIDA-SEN.

    [05] Pseudostate at Sanliurfa Fair According to KIBRIS (11.10 .00) the pseudostate will take part in the III

    International Fair GAP 2000 that will be held in Sanliurfa, Turkey, between 13 and 17 of October. It is the third time that the pseudostate will take part in this Fair.

    Countries from the Middle East, the Black Sea area, East & South Europe, Islamic countries, as well as the USA and Russia will participate in this Fair.
