In another development, 50 more bodies will be flown home tonight on two Greek Airforce transport planes. [02] Cyprus Cabinet approves 2006 state budget2140:CYPPRESS:05Cyprus Cabinet approves 2006 state budget Nicosia, Aug 25 (CNA) The Council of Ministers approved here today the 2006 state budget which will be submitted to the House of Representatives on October 6. The budget provides for a total revenue of 3.194 billion Cyprus pounds and for expenditure of 3.865 billion pounds. The 2006 Budget aims to curb the fiscal deficit at 3.7% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while the Deficit is expected to be further reduced to 1,7 of the GDP if the measures provided by the Convergence Plan are implemented. In statements after the four hour-long meeting, Finance Minister Makis Keravnos said that ''the 2006 budget has particular targets, namely the further fiscal consolidation, that is the elimination of the medium term fiscal deficit and to reduce the public debt, the continuation of the implementation of all measures of the Convergence Plan and the stabilization of our economy in the new framework of the Exchange Rate Mechanism''. The position is included in a resolution that was conveyed today to the President of the Republic, the President of the House of Representatives and the embassies of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.
