United Nations, Mar 12 (CNA)--- The Cyprus problem was among the issues discussed during a meeting on Friday between UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who met in Madrid on the sidelines of the summit on democracy, terrorism and security.

President Papadopoulos congratulates new Greek President

Nicosia, Mar 12 (CNA) ---- Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos sent today a message of congratulations to newly elected President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias, who officially assumed office today.

Papoulias was invested today during a special ceremony at the Greek Parliament, in the presence of Greek Prime Minister Constantinos Karamanlis and President of the Parliament Anna Benaki Psarouda.
