Straw wishes to restore Britain-Cyprus relations, Labour MPs say

London, Sep 16 (CNA) British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has stresses the need to restore cooperation and friendship between Cyprus and Britain, according to British Labour MPs, who also said that Straw is seriously considering the possibility of meeting Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos or Foreign Minister George Iacovou.

Greek Cypriot politicians meet with Turkish Cypriots

Nicosia, Sep 16 (CNA) Greek Cypriot politicians have met with their Turkish Cypriot colleagues in the Turkish occupied areas of the island.

A delegation of leftwing AKEL party, headed by parliamentary spokesman Nikos Katsourides, met with Turkish Cypriot Communal Liberation Party (TKP), Cyprus Socialist Party (KSP) and the Patriotic Unity Movement (YBH).

Nicosia, Sep 16 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

Friday and Saturday: 17/9/2004 to 18/9/2004 ------------------------------------------- Friday:

Weather Fine.

Wind: Gentle southeasterly to southerly and gradually gentle to moderate Southwesterly to Westerly during day. Northwesterly to Northeasterly over night.

Temperature: Min/Max 17 to 36 C inland 17 to 32 C over east and south coastal areas, 17 to 29C over the west coastal areas and 15 to 25 over Prodromos area.

Sea State: Up to slight during day, smooth to slight over night.

Saturday:

Tha same as Friday.

Outlook for Sunday and Monday: 19/9/2004 to 20/9/2004 ----------------------------------------------------- No change but increase in temperature.
