Nicosia, Feb 21 (CNA) -- US Secretary of State Colin Powell has said some significant improvement toward a settlement of the Cyprus problem has been made.

Annual PSEKA/SAE Cyprus Conference to take place May 12-14 in Washington

Nicosia, Feb 21 (CNA) -- Over 100 of the most politically active Greek-Americans from across the country and Hellenes from around the world will attend the 15th Annual International Coordinating Committee - Justice for Cyprus (PSEKA)/World Council of Hellenes (SAE) Cyprus Conference to take place in Washington May 12-14, 2004.

A press release of the National Coordinated Effort of Hellenes said ''conference participants will again be meeting with over 30 key US Senators and Members of Congress who serve on the pertinent committees and subcommittees and others who play a major role in the formulation of US policy toward and aid to Cyprus, Greece and Turkey.''

US says Turkish side should abide by its commitment for a settlement

Nicosia, Feb 21 (CNA) - US State Department Deputy Spokesman Adam Ereli has said the Turkish side has committed itself to the Annan plan and to reaching and supporting an agreement on Cyprus, underlying that ''that's the right thing to do.''
