Maclelan said Bush and Annan touched on the Cyprus problem very briefly at their initial meeting in the Oval Office. He also said he expected that this may be an issue which will come up more in the lunch they attended after the meeting. The White House spokesman also said the US welcomes ''the sincere willingness to advance a Cyprus settlement on the basis of Secretary Generals formula that the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan made to us during his visit last week.''
