Cyprus holds the lowest record among acceding countries and the third lowest among the EU25 as regards unemployment levels. According to EUROSTAT - Statistical Office of the European Communities in Luxembourg, the average unemployment rate for the 10 acceding countries stood at 14.5% and for the EU15 at 8.1%. As regards males, the unemployment rate in Cyprus stood at 3.2% (the same as in June) and for females at 5.8% (5.7% in June) In the EU15 the average unemployment level for males stood at 7.3% and for females at 9% remaining stable compared to June.
