Bad weather hits Cyprus, causing damage and filling damns

Nicosia, Dec 9 (CNA) - The rare wave of stormy weather that hit Cyprus over the past few days, has caused extensive damage and made communications difficult, and in some cases dangerous, while at the same time has poured precious water into the country's reservoirs.

The police and fire brigade told CNA that both services were on alert to pump water out of homes, while gale force winds sank boats, blew roofs off and snapped trees.
