Morphou municipality - Resolution - House President
Nicosia, Oct 14 (CNA) -- Refugees from the Turkish occupied area of Morphou,
on the northwest, have appealed to the UN for support in their search for
peace and the reunification of Cyprus, reminding the powerful nations of
the world that they should apply their influence on Turkey to help bring
about a just and viable settlement.
House President Demetris Christofias, addressing today's anti-occupation
rally by Morphou municipality, referred to the state terrorism Ankara
applies in Cyprus and stressed that the people of Cyprus will never cease
to demand the withdrawal of the Turkish occupation troops and the
restoration of human rights.

Foreign Minister - UAE visit
Larnaca, Oct 14 (CNA) -- The need to solve the question of Cyprus in
accordance with UN resolutions and with respect to international law and
order was stressed during talks between Cyprus and the UAE (United Arab
Emirates) over the weekend.
Cyprus Foreign Minster Ioannis Kasoulides and Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, also pointed to the need for
a just and permanent settlement of the Middle East issue and for
international cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
