Nicosia, Aug 19 (CNA) -- House President Demetris Christofias said today
that a solution to the Cyprus problem based on a bizonal, bicommunal
federation should lead to a unified state and rule out any form of division,
secession or integration with another country.
Speaking at a memorial service, for those killed during the Turkish
invasion of Cyprus in 1974, held within the framework of "The Cyprus Week"
events in Greece, where he is paying a three-day visit, Christofias said
Cyprus will not submit to blackmailing dilemmas in view of its accession to
the European Union adding the people of Cyprus will not accept any drafts
on a solution that would aim at combining federation and confederation.
