House President - Cyprus question
Nicosia, Aug 12 (CNA) -- House President Demetris Christofias believes that
the Greek Cypriot side must continue its effort to find a just and lasting
settlement in Cyprus on two fronts, insistence on the principles defined by
international law and UN resolutions and increased attempts to bring the
island's two communities closer together to boost efforts for
reunification.
Christofias has called on those involved in the Cyprus peace effort to
persuade Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash to return to the negotiating
table with good will for a substantive dialogue and urged them not to
tolerate Turkish policies, which sustain the current deadlock.
