    [01] Finance Minister - China - Official visit

    Nicosia, Jun 19 (CNA) - Cyprus' Finance Minister Takis Klirides departs for an official visit to China tomorrow, at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Shi Guangsheng.

    During his stay in China, Klirides will take part in the Joint Cypro-Kino Intergovernmental Committee on economic, scientific and technical cooperation, and will meet with Guangsheng to sign a cooperation protocol, which is expected to contribute towards further developing bilateral relations.

    Klirides will also meet with Chinese economic and political officials, and will visit Shanghai and Hangzou, where he will hold talks with the local authorities and representatives of the commercial and industrial sectors.

    [03] Cyprus - President Clerides - Health

    Nicosia, Jun 19 (CNA) -- President of Cyprus Glafcos Clerides, 82, was admitted here today to a private clinic for a medical check-up after undergoing a colon surgery last year for the removal of a polyp from his large intestine.

    President Clerides, who entered the clinic in good spirits said he was "feeling very well" and that "it will be a good rest" for him. He is expected to be discharged from the clinic on Thursday after the doctors run a series of tests. CNA/RM/MK/2001
