CNA/MAN/MK/RG/2001 1950:CYPPRESS:04[04] Tziakourmas - Application - ECHRNicosia, Jun 12 (CNA) - Lawyers of Greek Cypriot Panicos Tziakourmas, who was abducted in December 2000 by the illegal regime in the northern part of the island and released after being illegally detained for over four months in the Turkish occupied areas, filed an application yesterday against Turkey to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).Kypros Chrysostomides, one of Tziakourmas' Greek Cypriot lawyers, told CNA that the application was filed on behalf of Tziakourmas himself and his family, but refrained from giving any further details, saying only that all applications have to do with "violations of rights protected by the European Human Rights Convention."
