    [05] Ecologists - Interview - Parliamentary Elections

by Nikos Markides Nicosia, May 2 (CNA) – The Cyprus Ecologists and Environmentalists Movement believes the Greek Cypriot side must insist on a settlement on the island that is in line with European Union (EU) laws and regulations, safeguarding and fully respecting human and political rights. It considers that these conditions are not met with the numerous proposals submitted until today.

In an interview with CNA in view of the parliamentary elections to be held on May 27, the Movement's representative George Perdikis said it has come a long way since it was founded in 1996, when it had unsuccessfully contested the elections, and said that through its cooperation with political and other social forces it has contributed in tackling both local and regional ecological issues.
