    [01] Cyprus talks - National Council - Meeting

    by Maria Myles Geneva, Nov 3 (CNA) - The National Council, top advisory body to the President on the Cyprus problem comprising parliamentary party leaders, met here last night for nearly three hours, under President Glafcos Clerides, but no statements were made after the meeting.

    CNA has learned that Council members had an in depth discussion with a view to formulate the positions of the Greek Cypriot side on the issue of properties, one of the four core issues the UN has invited the Greek and Turkish Cypriot sides to discuss in the ongoing proximity talks, which started here Wednesday.

    [02] Cyprus - Russia - Medicine

    Nicosia, Nov 3 (CNA) - Cyprus has donated medical material for the needs of the veteran's hospital of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The material was delivered yesterday during a special ceremony by Cyprus' Ambassador in Moscow, Charalambos Ioannides, to Alexander Avdeyev, First Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Present were Russian Forign Ministry officials and other Russian officials as well as Cypriot diplomats in Moscow. CNA/RG/GP/2000

    [03] UN spokesman - Cyprus talks - UN Secretary-General

    by Maria Myles Geneva, Nov 3 (CNA) - Director of the UN Section for the Press in Geneva, Jamel ben Yahmed, announced today that UN Secretary- General Kofi Annan would be in Geneva on November 8, "to be involved in the Cyprus peace talks".

    He told CNA that Annan would remain in Geneva until November 11, when the talks will be wrapped up. CNA/MM/RG/GP/2000

    [04] President Clerides - UN envoy - Ieeting

    Geneva, Nov 3 (CNA) - Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides met here today the UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Cyprus, Alvaro de Soto, in the context of proximity talks on the Cyprus problem.

    After the meeting, which lasted about an hour and a half, no statements were made. CNA/MM/RG/GP/2000

    [05] Cyprus - Estonia - Agreement

    Nicosia, Nov 3 (CNA) - Cyprus and Estonia have signed an agreement on economic, scientific, technical and industrial cooperation.

    The agreement was signed in Tallinn by Cypriot Ambassador to Finland, accredited to Estonia, Leonidas Markides, and Estonian Foreign Minister Toomas Hendrik Ilves. CNA/RM/RG/GP/2000

    [06] Turkish Cypriot leader - UN envoy - Meeting

    by Maria Myles Geneva, Nov 3 (CNA) - The UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Cyprus, Alvaro de Soto, met today with Turkish Cypriot leader, Rauf Denktash, in the context of proximity talks on the Cyprus problem, underway in Geneva.

    Speaking before the meeting and asked if he expected to get any homework from de Soto, Denktash said "I don't know, but we may give him some homework". The Turkish Cypriot leader did not wish to elaborate on what kind of homework he was referring to, saying "we will see". CNA/MM/RG/MCH/2000
