[01] Cyprus Rally 2000 - Second leg
Limassol, Sep 9 -- The second leg of the Cyprus Rally 2000, which is
included in the FIA's World Championship, got underway this morning, with
Carlos Sainz's Ford leaving first from the southern coastal town of
Limassol, where the Rally is based.
Today's second leg comprises eight special stages totaling 114,50kms and
the first car is expected to finish late this afternoon.

[02] Cyprus problem - New round of talks
by Maria Myles Nicosia, Sep 9 (CNA) -- As interested parties start
gathering in New York for next week's UN-led peace talks on Cyprus, each
with its own agenda but bearing in mind the call which takes them to the UN
seat, diplomatic sources believe that the peace process is set to continue
with discussions on various scenario on specialized topics.
The Greek and Turkish Cypriot sides return to New York for a fourth round
of proximity talks with not only different approaches but also opposing
views on issues raised at the negotiating table, which relate to the status
of the participants, political equality of the island's two communities and
the status of the two regions that would make up the federal Cyprus to
emerge from the peace process.

[03] Cyprus Rally - Sainz leads
Limassol, Sep 9, (CNA) -- Spaniard Carlos Sainz of Ford continues to be in
the lead of the overall results in today's second leg of the Cyprus Rally,
based in the southern coastal town of Limassol, while Briton Richard Burns
of Subaru and French Francois Delecour of Peugeot are fighting for the
second position in the overall results, so far.
During yesterday's first leg of the Cyprus Rally, Sainz took the lead early
on and finished first in the overall results leading by 1 minute 20 seconds,
with Delecour second and Burns third.
