    [01] House President - Hospital

    Nicosia, Nov 22 (CNA) -- Acting President, House of Representatives President Spyros Kyprianou was rushed to the Nicosia General Hospital last night with acute onchronic bronchitis and is expected to remain in hospital for treatment for at least a week his doctor told CNA today.

    The House President's illness forced him to postpone a three-day official visit to Israel, heading a parliamentary delegation. He was due to leave for Israel tonight.

    [02] EDEK - New socialdemocrat movement

    Nicosia, Nov 22 (CNA) -- Socialist party EDEK decided at an extraordinary conference yesterday to go ahead with the establishment of a new socialdemocrat movement together with the Movement for the Renewal of the Centre and other interested personalities or movements.

    The conference approved a proposal put forward by the party central committee and decided both the founding congress and election conference will take place in February 2000.
