Nicosia, Nov 20 (CNA) -- The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO)
Conference, taking place in Rome, yesterday unanimously elected Cyprus as a
member of its Council, representing the European group.
The Council comprises representatives of 49 member nations, elected by
the Conference for three-year terms, and is the interim governing body of
FAO between sessions of the Conference.

[02] Kyrenia municipality - Mediterranean Network
Nicosia, Nov 20 (CNA) -- The Turkish-occupied municipality of Kyrenia has
recently become a full and equal member of a network of twinned towns and
regions of the Mediterranean.
In December, the Kyrenia municipality will participate in a youth
conference on "The Mediterranean Bridge in the Euro-Mediterranean prospect
of the European Union for the cooperation of its peoples", organised by the
46-member Network.

[03] President Clerides - Athens
Athens, Nov 20 (CNA) -- Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides arrived in Athens
today, for talks on Monday with Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis.
Their talks are expected to focus on the UN sponsored proximity talks
on the Cyprus problem, beginning December 3 in New York, and the upcoming
European Union Summit to be held a week later in Finland.
