Nicosia, Nov 4 (CNA) -- The government is determined to continue the effort
to establish the fate of missing persons and exhume remains of war dead and
missing of the 1974 Turkish invasion with a view to identify them,
Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou has said.
The spokesman's comments come only a day after the mother of a 16 year
old boy, listed as missing but now known to have been killed during the
hostilities, hailed her son's sacrifice for his country.

[02] Education and Culture Minister - Meetings in China
Nicosia, Nov 4 (CNA) -- Education and Culture Minister, Ouranios Ioannides,
reviewed bilateral relations with China, during his official visit to the
country at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, according to an
official announcement.
Ioannides met with Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the
National People's Congress Tie Mu'er, and other officials of the Culture
and Education Ministries, who expressed the wish for strengthening
bilateral ties.

Nicosia, Nov 4 (CNA) -- US Ambassador Donald Bandler today pledged that
American "firms can be very good business partners for Cypriot businesses".
He was addressing a conference entitled "Doing Business with the US"
which is sponsored by the US State Department and the Cyprus-American
Business Association (CyABA), where speakers called on Cypriot
entrepreneurs to seize the opportunities which are present and promote
trade relations between the two countries.

[04] Cyprus - Ireland - Memorandum of Cooperation - EU
Nicosia, Nov 4 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Ireland signed in Dublin today a
memorandum of cooperation on European Union (EU) issues within the
framework of Cyprus' harmonisation with the acquis communautaire.
The memorandum, signed between Cyprus Finance Minister, Takis Klerides
and his Irish counterpart, Charlie McCreevy will promote cooperation
between the two governments on EU matters.

[05] CoE - Kasoulides - Cyprus
Nicosia, Nov 4 (CNA) -- Cyprus Foreign Minister, Ioannis Kasoulides, today
praised the role of the Council of Europe (CoE) in protecting human rights.
Addressing the 105th session of the Committee of Ministers in
Strasbourg, Kasoulides pointed out the uniqueness of the CoE regarding the
right of citizens of CoE member states.
