[01] War veterans - Remembrance Day
Nicosia, Nov 4 (CNA) -- The Cyprus Veterans' Association of World War II
will honour the soldiers, who died on the battlefield during the First and
Second World Wars, by observing a two minute silence on 11 November,
Association Chairman Andreas Christofi said today.
"The international community, which governs the destiny of small
countries, has been inactive for more than 25 years in implementing the
ideals of freedom, justice and respect of human rights in our country",
Christofi said, noting that 30,000 Cypriots fought in World War II.
