MARCH 17 1997 DAY
NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
SARAJEVO - The president from Republika Srpska (RS) in the B-H Presidency,
Momcilo Krajisnik, expressed his concern over the behaviour of his
counterpart Alija Izetbegovic who, in stead of attending Presidency session
in Lukavica, paid visit to Saudi Arabia without any notice. According to
him, the visit indicates that Izetbegovic behaves very self-willingly and
ignores the work of the joint B-H bodies, in this case B-H Presidency. "At
this session we should have discussed the Central Bank, Council
of ministers and other casual issues, and that is why Izetbegovic's
absence is very problematic", stated Krajisnik.
SARAJEVO - The aid for RS and Federation of B-H will be dependent upon the
conclusion of the programme with the International Monetary Fund, this was
assessed at the meeting of the RS vice-premier, Djuradj Banjac and co-
president of the Council of Ministers, Boro Bosic, with the member of the
World Bank Steering Board, Pieter Stek. While assessing the talks in Pale
as open and sincere, Banjac stated that the issue of financial gap for the
project was discussed - the finances being already committed by
international donors.
DOBOJ - The members of the Ministry of Internal started census in the Doboj
community of Hodzici, in which the SFOR Nordic-Polish Brigade carried out
demarcation between RS and Federation territories.
SARAJEVO - SFOR Spokesman Tony White stated at the press conference in Serb
Sarajevo that Armies of RS and Federation carried out 47 demining actions.
While recalling the Red Cross report, in RS and the Federation
approximately 50 persons get injured by mines every month, White said
"these actions will certainly help these sad figures reduce".
DOBOJ - The commander of the "North" multi-national division, US general
John Migs, would visit SFOR units in Doboj for the first time, this was
confirmed in SFOR Nordic-Polish Brigade in Doboj.
SARAJEVO - The RS delegation to be led by minister for issues of war
veterans, war victims and labour, Vojislav Gligic, and defence minister,
Milan Ninkovic, will visit RS wounded, being treated in Yugoslav
institutions.
