government plans to organise a meeting next month, and all international
bodies contributing to Romania's financing are to be invited: the IMF, the
World Bank, the EBRD, the European Investment Bank, G 24, EU, Mr. Ciorbea
said at a press conference in Bacau. The prime minister informed that,
during the meeting the financing programmes for the next years were to be

[03] American investments in Romania
Representatives of 24 American companies will visit Bucharest for two days
in order to learn about the business opportunities in Romania. Sent by the
US Trade Department, the business delegation will be informed of the
Romanian market, and best business opportunities in the country. Prime
Minister Victor Ciorbea and other members of the government will attend the
opening session on Monday. RADOR, October 6
[04] "Specialisation in business initiatives"
The specialisation in business initiatives seems to be the safest way to
get to concrete results. According to a report of the Invest Romania
conference in Chicago, Romanian guests from different economic fields,
including the wine industry, are noticing the participation of the state in
neighbour countries in order to promote exports. Referring investment and
trade potential of the Romanian market, American experts have noticed that,
in the last few months, many things changed, but many difficulties still
remained. "Nobody can explain to me", an American businessman said, "why in
Romania you need 21 days to register a firm. Other impediments in Romania
are: bureaucracy, corruption, difficult financial and book-keeping systems.
Presidential councellor Valentin Ionescu said: "The president wants Romania
to enter the world economic circuit, to obtain a lasting economic
development without being isolated, so this visit has its importance. This
is the message I deliver from the president and I am trying to represent my
country as good as possible". RADOR, October 6
