[01] The former sovereign of Romania took part at the Sunday religious
service at the Bucharest Patriarchy
Thousands of Romanians, some from other parts of the country, took part in
the Sunday service of the Bucharest Patriarchy with the former sovereign of
Romania, Mihai I. "Your Majesty are a son of the Orthodox Church and of the
Romanian nation. For 50 yearsof communism, the church has prayed for you,
that is why I am deeply moved to receive you here" said Teoctist, the
patriarch of the Orthodox Church in conclusion of his service. In the
afternoon, Mihai I and his wife Ana de Bourbon-Parma laid a wreath of
flowers at the statue of Corneliu Coposu, a great Romanian politician,
leader of the Peasant Party. The statue is near the former king's palace,
in Revolution square of Bucharest. Here, the king was greeted by several

[02] Starting the Rapid Task force of the Romanian Army
A festivity of starting the Rapid Task force of the Romanian Army is to be
held on Monday. It is destined to taking part in the strategic national
defence objectives and humanitarian actions. The Rapid Task Force can be
used together with NATO forces and of partner states for the prevention of
conflicts and the solving of crises. The force will include big units,
large tank, artillery and paratrooper units structured at the level of the
North Atlantic Alliance standards. They will have a great mobility and will
have priority in being supplied with modern military technique. The setting
up of the Rapid Task Force will take place in stages, along about three

[03] Ceilo cars produced in Romania will be exported in other countries
The first lot of Cielo cars produced by the Daewoo Automobile Romania
company will leave for Russia. The exports of the company will continue to
Poland, the Czeck Republic, Hungary and Ukraine. Out of the 70.000 cars
leaving the plant, 40.000 are exported. RRI-RADOR, March 3, 1997
