[01] Visit to Hungary by Romanian defence minister Victor Babiuc
Romanian defence minister Victor Babiuc will meet today in Debrecen his
Hungarian counterpart Gyorgy Keleti. In the end of their meeting, an accord
is to be signed on issues of mutual interest. "Our agenda is full of
important issues", Victor Babiuc said before leaving Bucharest.RRI-RADOR,

[02] Visit to London by vicepresident of Romanian Senate
Vicepresident of Romanian Senate, Cristian Dumitrescu, is in London to
attend the session of comission for economic and development issues of the
Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly. Romanian MP has stated that a
project related to North-South economic relations as well as a project
concerning economic situation in the Balkans will be discussed. Dumitrescu
also said Romania must have an important role during economic
reconstruction in countries from the region. Likewise, Romania should
receive compensation for economic losses incurred in the wake of embargo

[03] Romanian Supreme Defence Council session
Romania's Supreme Defence Council, chaired by president Emil Constantinescu,
has stood for establishing relations of special partnership between NATO on
one hand, and Russia and Ukraine on the other hand. Likewise, Bucharest's
wish was reiterated to join North-Atlantic Alliance in first wave of
enlargement. To Romania, the accession to European institutions which
promote stability, prosperity and which are guarantors of democraqcy, is a

[04] Minimum wages and social protection measures to be announced
From February 1-st, the minimum wages in Romania will be of 150,000 lei
(about 21 USD). It will be renegociated in May, depending of price rises.
The announcement was made by Bogdan Hossu, leader of ALFA cartel, one of
most important trade union confederations in Romania, after meeting on
Saturday with government representatives. Social protection measures as
well as those related to economic reform will be made public by premier
Ciorbea on Monday, in an extraordinary press conference.RRI-RADOR,

Weather in Romania is getting colder with temperatures under 0 centigrades.
Rains and snow falls are possible in North as well as in South of the
country. In Bucharest, temperatures will range from 0 centigrades in the
