[01] HOUSES BEING EVACUATED IN TURKLER DUE TO FIRE
ALANYA - The houses in Bilaller neighbourhood are being evacuated on
Sunday as the fire which broke out in Turkler hamlet of southern Alanya
town of Antalya province grew quickly due to the wind.
[02] FOREST FIRE STARTS AT TURKLER TOWN, 25 KILOMETERS FROM ALANYA
ANTALYA - A forest fire started at the tourist area of Turkler town
which is 25 kilometers from Alanya on Sunday afternoon.
[03] PEOPLE HOLD PROTEST AT AKCAGAZ FILLING FACTORY
KORFEZ - A large group of people living around Akcagaz filling factory
in Kocaeli's Korfez township held a protest after the fire in the
factory was put out and they said their lives were at risk.
[04] KILIC SAYS INSUFFICIENT MEASURES TAKEN AT FILLING FACILITIES
ISTANBUL - Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Kılıc, the Chairman of the Foundation
for Prevention of Fires in Turkey said on Sunday that the measures
taken at filling facilities in Turkey are not sufficient.

ANKARA - Motherland Party (ANAP) leader and Deputy Prime Minister Mesut
Yilmaz has said that he expected Parliament to decide to hold early
elections on Nov. 3 and only Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit's resignation
might prevent this from happening.

ANKARA - Motherland Party (ANAP), State Minister and Deputy Prime
Minister Mesut Yilmaz said on Sunday that if the government stays in
power until April 2004, it will turn into a burden for Turkey.

KOCAELI - The fire which broke out in Akcagaz filling factory in Korfez
town of northwestern Kocaeli province cost nearly 3 trillion liras of
damage.

ERZURUM - Erzurum Culture Director Fehmi Bedir has said that the
Culture Ministry offered 380 billion TL funds for the restoration of
Erzurum Fortress and its surrounding.

EMPLOYMENT FOR 3.5 MILLION PERSONS
SANLIURFA - When the Southeast Development Project (GAP) which is the
biggest investment of Turkey is completed, a total of 1.7 million
hectares of land is planned to be irrigated and an employment
opportunity will be provided for 3.5 million people.

SURVIVORS IN RIZE
RIZE - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf
Denktas announced that they started a campaign to help the flood
survivors in Rize and they would soon send ten billion TL to the area
which was collected in the very beginning of the campaign.

said that the sculptures of the 2000 year old Kommagene Civilization
located on the summit of Nemrut Mountain in Adiyaman's Kahta township
were unique in the world.

KOCAELI - Kocaeli deputy governor Ummet Kandogan said on Sunday that
the fire in Akcagaz LPG filling factory in Korfez town of Kocaeli
province was extinguished and the cooling efforts started.

ON CONDITION
GUMUSHANE - Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader, State Minister and
Deputy Prime Minister Devlet Bahceli said on Saturday that if the
issues other than the seven issues which are covered by the national
programme for adoption of acquis (NPAA) are included in a seperate
package, MHP can support the adoption of them as law.
