ANKARA - Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit received Chairman of a Jewish
association B'nai B'rith International Chairman Richard Heideman on
Friday afternoon.
[02] JAPANESE LOAN OFFERED TO TURKEY WITH FAVOURABLE TERMS
ISTANBUL - Treasury Deputy Undersecretary Aydin Karaoz has said that
the credit that is taken from the Japanese government for the
fortification of bridges and viaducts in Marmara region will be
deferred for ten years and thereafter payment will be made over a
40-year period with a 0.95 percent interest rate.

LONDON - British Foreign Ministry has responded to the sixth Turkey
report that was announced by the British Parliament Foreign Relations
Commission about two months ago.

SIDE - Turkey's Secretary General for European Union (EU) Volkan Vural
said on Friday that Turkey does not have any deficiencies in its
structure when compared to EU countries, adding that, ''may be the
economic indicators are not good, but Turkey, with its current legal
substructure, has institutions which take under guarantee a market
economy which functions better than other candidate countries.
[05] TURKEY AND JAPAN SIGN CREDIT AGREEMENT OF 100 MILLION USD FOR
FORTIFICATION OF BRIDGES AND VIADUCTS IN MARMARA REGION
ISTANBUL - The Turkish government signed Friday a credit agreement of
12 billion 22 million Japanese Yen (about 100 million USD) with Japan
for the project to seismic fortification of Bogazici (Bosphorus),
Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Halic (Golden Horn) bridges and viaducts on the
connection roads in Turkey's Marmara region.

ADANA - U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Robert W. Pearson said on Friday

[08] TREASURY TO HOLD THREE AUCTIONS NEXT WEEK
ANKARA - The Treasury will hold three auctions next week. On Monday,
July 8, Treasury will auction 364-day Discounted State Bonds
denominated in U.S. dollar. On Tuesday, July 9, Treasury will hold two
auctions to sell 154-day and 238-day bons.

ANKARA - Agriculture and Rural Affairs Ministry will put into practice
an animal breeding project in Afghanistan in order to develop animal
