ANKARA - Manuel de la Camara, the Spanish Ambassador to Turkey, said on
Friday, ''Spain has been supporting Turkey's European Union (EU)
process. Turkey belongs to the EU.''

ERZURUM - Torrential rains caused flood in eastern provinces of Erzurum
and Kars on Friday.

KARS - President Haydar Aliyev of Azerbaijan said on Friday, ''there
are some circles who do not want the friendly relations between Turkey
and Azerbaijan. However, we should protect these relations.''
President Aliyev was presented with honorary doctorate by the Kafkas
University in eastern province of Kars.

ANKARA - The monthly meeting of the National Security Council (NSC)
under the chairmanship of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer ended.
Releasing a written statement following the meeting, the NSC
Secretariat General said that State Minister Tunca Toskay, State
Minister Mehmet Kececiler and Energy and Natural Resources Minister
Zeki Cakan attended a part of the meeting.

offshores of Kos island of Greece and Mugla's Datca township said
during their interrogation that their ship sank when a bigger boat
coming from Kos which had its projectors on came and hit them.
