WASHINGTON, Jan 10 (A.A) - The US State Department Acting Spokesman James Foley said on Friday that ''we do not recognize allegations of Greece that its air space is 10 nautical miles.''

A Greek journalist, during Foley's press conference, claimed that Turkish warplanes violated Greek sovereignity in the Aegean and asked about the reaction of Greece. In response to this question, Foley said ''the occurrence of such violations this week would, if they indeed happened, be needlessly provocative and contrary to the spirit of closer cooperation and reduction of tension to which the Turkish and Greek governments have committed themselves,''

Foley said, ''we're not currently in a position to confirm the reports,'' adding that the United States and other nations do not recognize Greece's claim to an airspace of ten nautical miles in the Aegean.

''Thus, we do not consider Turkish, US, or any other aircraft flying in the zone between six and ten nautical miles from Greek territory to be in violation,'' he said. He noted that some of the incidents were reported in that area.

''According to the news reports which appeared in the media, several violation allegations of Turkish planes is included in this category,'' Foley added.

[03] TURKEY-ITALY - POLICE CHIEF BILICAN RETURNS TURKEY - BILICAN: ''SEPARATIST TERRORIST PKK IS BEHIND HUMAN SMUGGLING''

ISTANBUL, Jan 10 (A.A) - Police Chief Necati Bilican said on Friday that human smuggling was provocated by separatist terrorist organizations adding that ''separatist terrorist PKK organization is behind this. PKK organizes organized crime organizations and provocate them.''

Bilican returned to Turkey on Friday after participating in a meeting held in Rome on preventing the illegal immigration to Italy.

Speaking in Istanbul's Ataturk Airport Bilican said Turkey's views on the issue was conveyed in details. Bilican said they did not sign the document issued in the meeting as the role of the separatist terrorist organization is not recognized openly.

Stressing that no Article was included in the document saying that political refugee issue should not be exploited, Bilican said ''at the begining of the meeting there was a headline ''immigration of Kurdish groups'', we have opposed to this from the very begining. There are people from different nations in this migration incident. If you say ''immigration of Kurdish groups'' you will make a mistake. Our thesis was adopted when we rejected it.''

Bilican critized his Greek counterpart who wanted to give it a political means adding that he told them that this was not a political issue.

Police Chief Bilican said ''we said this is an organized human smuggling crime action. Yet, separatist terrorist organization is behind this.'' He also urged all countries to prevent opportunities which promote human smuggling.

[04] TURKEY-GREECE - FOREIGN MINISTRY STRICTLY REACTS TO PANGALOS - ''WE ADVISE PANGALOS TO VISIT GENOCIDE MUSEUM IN JERUSALEM''

ANKARA, Jan 10 (A.A) - Foreign Ministry on Saturday reacted to the hostile statements of Greek Foreign Minister Teodoros Pangalos against Turkey.

Foreign Ministry statement identified slanderous statements of Pangalos forwarded to Turkey as ''foolish talks that suited to its owner'' adding that ''he draggs his country to new adventures.''

The statement said ''Mr. Pangalos, with his racist incitements, dynamite internal peace in several Middle East countries that are neighbors of Turkey and the welfare in Europe.''

The statement stressed the necessity of Greece to save itself from hostility against Turkey ''whatever happened in the near history will be repeated. Hostility against Turkey did not bring benefit to Greece in the past and will not in the future.''

The statement said Greece entered to an adventure after Pangalos like the example of ''Pied Piper'' and that Greek Minister escalated hostility against Turkey with racist provocations.

The statement said this attitude of Pangalos did not suit to himself ''because Greece which he represented, carries facism and racism to its history like a black stain.''

Greek facists, under the leadership of Pangalos and the similar ones handed over thousands of Greek Jews to German occupiers and sent them to death camps. Pangalos, with his statement saying that Greece is the only country who did not cooperate with German authorities, refrains from the facts.

''We advise him to visit Genocide Museum in Jerusalem and to read what has been written for Greece and to see the photographs of Greek facists who handed 53,000 Greek Jews to Nazis to send to death camps'' the statement said adding that ''we also advise him to remember how facist dictatorship which prevalied on Greece exhausted Greek people in mass executions and gallows.

''We also remind him the photographs of a massacre which Greek Cypriot side of facist junta in Greece killed Turkish Cypriots with a racist violance'' it added.

Greek Foreign Minister Teodoros Pangalos, speaking to reporters on Friday, continued his hostile attitude against Turkey and evaluated the operations of Turkey carried against the separatist terrorist organization as a ''massacre.''

Pangalos claimed that the illegal migration wave was an outcome of military activities having genocide aspects.

ANKARA, Jan 10 (A.A) - Interior Minister Murat Basesgioglu said on Saturday that they helped the illegal immigrants coming to Turkey and that they were thinking of setting up a camp for those people.

Responding to the questions of reporters about the illegal migration, Basesgioglu said no country accused Turkey during a meeting held in Rome where Security Chiefs participated in. ''Only Greece extended efforts to bring the incident into political platforms yet, they gave up this idea upon the reaction of Turkey'' he said.

''We will cooperate with European countries to this end as the issue concerns many countries'' Basesgioglu said adding that ''this is something where we all should struggle.''

Basesgioglu said there was no concrete information confirming that those ships took illegal immigrants from Turkish harbours. ''Moreover, there are allegations that a ship which sailed from Greek harbours reached to Italy. Yet, we do not accuse anybody basing on these claims. We have launched a wide-scale investigation to this end. Of course, we will investigate if one of our unit is responsible for this.''

Recalling that there were allegations that ships from Syria, Lebanon and Greece went to Italy, not only from Turkey, Basesgioglu said ''it means this traffic is not only over Turkey. Turkey is a transit country yet, there are ships sailing away from harbours apart from Turkey.''

Basesgioglu said ''this act is based on economic reasons. Those people had to migrate from their countries due to social crisis in Northern Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan.''

He said this is the problem of the Middle East and Europe. ''We will solve this problem altogether. The image that Turkey tolarates such an immigration vawe is not true.
