A prospective candidate is expected to hold a master's in Computer Science or equivalent degree (e.g. Computer Engineering diploma). Fresh Ph.D's or exceptional candidates with B.Sc. degrees are encouraged to apply as well. The salary amounts to the entry level of the A7-A8 scale of the Cypriot state for full-time employment and for B.Sc.-M.Sc. holders with limited work experience; this translates to roughly 8500 to 12000 CYP gross income per year, depending on age, experience, and marital status.

The project will address the development and deployment of an integrated Internet and Satellite platform dedicated to health applications, and covering the whole Euro-Mediterranean area. The project will focus on three priority themes:

We seek highly motivated and responsible individuals with an R&D commitment, proved capability for independent work, and a strong exposure to fields such as software project management, software engineering, and databases. Practical experience with Internet Technologies (Web, Web Databases), Multimedia, and Networking will be considered a strong advantage. An interest to pursue post-graduate or post-doctoral studies in the University of Cyprus will be considered a plus. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

The position will involve conducting research, development and integration, as well as project management. The position is initially for one (1) year, renewable up to two (2) years. Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus.
