Systems Engineer, Ref: DSS2 Location: Brentford , United Kingdom

AspenTech's Dynamic Simulation Services Group has a vacancy for a Systems Engineer. The role involves developing bespoke project related solutions often involving communication links to third part products. Maintaining and supporting existing products (C, some Java) on both UNIX and increasingly Windows NT platforms. Support duties extend to offering language support to chemical engineers that implement detailed numerical implementations of models simulating chemical processes, equipment to run within the OTISS environment.

You will need two years plus UNIX experience and one year plus on NT. We are interested in hearing from competent C programmers, who are experienced with TCP/IP. A familiarity developing with SUN SOLARIS and HP-UX 10.x and Windows NT environments. Java, VB, C++ experience would also be useful.

Business Support/Proposals Manager, Ref: DSS Location: Brentford

AspenTech's Dynamic Simulation Services Group requires a Business Support/ Proposals Manager. Main duties include, preparation of proposals and job costing, estimation of schedules and man hours. Liason with clients and third party suppliers. Assistance to business development personnel within AspenTech. Preparation of various co-operation agreements and negotiation of terms and conditions with clients. Preparation of handover material from business development to the project manager, briefing the project manager and assistance with project start-up. Development of business opportunities. Assistance with Plantelligence and combined AspenTech division bids and following up proposals and presentations to clients.

You will need at least a second class honors degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Experience with proposals and client negotiations. Costing and estimation experience in technology based area. A wide experience of the oil and gas, petrochemical and/or refining business.

Process Simulation Engineer Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom

AspenTech's Dynamic Simulation Solution Group is looking for Process Engineers for our Cambridge U.K. office.

Responsibilities include:

- Development of dynamic and steady-state simulation models based on AspenPlus, SpeedUp, OTISS. - Interaction at a technical level with client personnel - Preparation of written technical reports

Qualified candidates will have a good degree in Chemical Engineering. Experience in process modeling is a plus as is practical experience of plant operation. In addition candidates should have a general working knowledge of computers and excellent communication skills
