The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICh), a constituent Institute of the "Centre International des Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Mediterranneenes" - Paris/France (CIHEAM), seeks the following positions:

Department of Economic and Management Sciences

Management Information System (MIS) Researcher, to actively participate in a European Union funded project aiming to develop an Integrated knowledge based Decision Support System.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in this field is preferred.

Experience is necessary in user interface, model base, data base and knowledge base module development. Monthly salary is negotiable. Application deadline: October 1st, 1998.

Management Researcher, to actively participate in a European Union funded project aiming to upgrade the Agribusiness sector.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Business Administration is preferred, MBA holders will be considered as well.

Experience is necessary in the agricultural and/or food sector. Monthly salary is negotiable. Application deadline: October 1st, 1998.

Department of Environment and Renewable Resources

Researcher in Geographic Information System / Remote Sensing (GIS/RS), to participate in a European Union project with goal to create and then to integrate vegetation information models with advanced methods of land analysis (to be applied in Mediterranean drylands). The appointment will be for 3 years.

Qualifications involve a Ph.D. and working knowledge on management of Natural resources using GIS/RS. Additional knowledge on Multivariate Statistical Analyses and Modeling approaches will be seriously taken into account. Some administrative work will be required.
