The Department of Computer Science of the University of Ioannina, Greece has an immediate openning of a faculty position in the field of Database or Information Systems at the Full Professor Level.

The deadline for applications is the 22nd of December.


The Department of Computer Science of the University of Ioannina is newly founded (accepted its first undergraduate students in 1993) and growing fast. It currently has 9 faculty members and 4 adjunct faculty members. A graduate program leading to an MSc and/or PhD degree will be initiated next fall under goverment funding. There are also a number of EC and goverment R&D projects running. The department's equipment includes: two Sun4 labs and a Sun ipx lab each with 20 workstations, a Sun Ultra1, a Sun Ultra3000 with 2 cpus, a Silicon Graphics Power Challenge, and a multimedia lab. New equipment will include a graphics lab with 15 Silicon Graphics Indy workstations and a PC lab with 15 PCs.

To qualify, applicants must be fluent in Greek.
