A post-doctoral position is available in the area of molecular modelling of polymers. The objective of the work will be to understand adhesion phenomena at some industrially important polymer/solid and polymer/polymer interfacial systems using atomistic simulations, self-consistent field theory and mesoscopic (entanglement network) simulations of deformation and fracture.

The successful candidate must be a Greek national holding a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or Physics, with good knowledge of polymer physics, statistical mechanics and interfacial phenomena and extensive research experience in large-scale scientific computations.

The appointment will start between January 1, 1997 and March 1, 1997 and will be valid for one year, with a possibility of extension for a second year. The net monthly salary will be approximately 310 thousand Greek drachmas (1,000 ECU).

Financial support for the position is provided by the DSM Company, Geleen, The Netherlands.
