GRADUATE ASSISTANSHIPS AND POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
MEDICAL IMAGING
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA

Graduate assistanships are available at the Department of Radiology at the University of South Florida to students seeking a Ph.D. degree in medical imaging. Research areas include image processing and pattern recognition methods for computer assisted diagnosis (CAD) for mammography, chest radiography, cutaneous imaging, or magnetic resonance imaging, design and implementaton of clinical studies for the evaluation of the developed CAD methods, and teleradiology/telemedicine applications. The research will be done at the Digital Medical Imaging Program, a program of the Dept. of Radiology and the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute that collaborates with the Departments of Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mathematics at the University of South Florida.

A postdoctoral position is also available at the Digital Medical Imaging Program. The successful candidate will work in projects involving the application of computer assisted diagnosis methods for digital mammography and chest radiography and the design and execution of clinical evaluation studies based on receiver operating characteristic analysis. A Ph.D. in medical physics, bioengineering, or other related field is required. Selection will also be based on the ability of the applicant to initiate his/her own research and participate in the submission of grant applications.
