The Hellenic-Canadian Academic Association of Ontario (HCAAO) in cooperation with the Centre for Research in Hellenic Studies in Canada (KEEK) organise a mini-conference on

"Hellenism in the 21st century"
Wednesday, June 2, 1999, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
at the Polymenakeion Cultural Centre of the Greek Community of Metro-Toronto, 30 Thorncliff Park Drive, Toronto, Canada.

The speakers include

  • Prof. Kostas Vergopoulos, Universite Paris VIII, France
  • Prof. Spyros Vryonis, Vryonis Centre for the study of Hellenism, California, U.S.
  • Dr. Christos Ioannidis, Vryonis Centre for the study of Hellenism, California, U.S.
  • Prof. Van Coufoudakis, Dean of Arts, Indiana-Purdue University, Fort Wayne, Indiana, U.S.
  • Prof. Theodoros Pelagidis, Panteion University, Athens, Greece
  • Prof. Spuros Sfetas, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and Institute for Balkan Studies
  • Prof. Panagiotis Tsimpos, University of Western Ontario, London, Canada
The subjects of the talks will cover a broad area of current developments in Greece, the Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean, as well as Hellenism abroad. The talks will be in Greek. Free entrance.
