[01] NEW NATO PLAN ON KOSOVO

    Web Posted: 13:57 GMT+2
Thessaloniki, 10/04/1999 (MPA) NATO makes a new step in the crisis in Kossovo and by using the threat for the use of force as a means of pressure is ready to present a new plan on Kossovo and Yugoslavia. According to the Sunday issues of the Athens newspapers "Eleftherotypia" and "Ethnos", on Monday's NATO foreign ministers meeting, which is regarded to be of decisive importance there will be strong pressure exerted on Greece to facilitate the allied forces, mainly through the port of Thessaloniki.

The scenarios that are being prepared by the alliance see Kossovo as a protectorate and also they mention the deployment of a NATO force, possibly with the participation of Russia for the return of the refugees to their homes and the implementation of the cease fire terms.

The German presidency will prepare its own plan for an exodus from the crisis, while the US Pentagon has already drawn up its own plan for the "day after". All the scenarios, from the most extreme to the most optimistic, provide for the presence of strong military forces in the region that will be deployed for a period of at least a month.

[02] THE JOYOUS MESSAGE OF CHRIST'S RESURRECTION

    Web Posted: 13:57 GMT+2
Thessaloniki, 10/04/1999 (MPA) The Orthodox Christians are looking forward to the joyous message of Christ's resurrection that brings redemption and rebirth.

After the sadness of the crucifixion, the heavy atmosphere recedes to give its place tonight to the joy and deliverance brought by the resurrection.

[03] AKIS TSOCHATZOPOULOS WILL VISIT ALBANIA

    Web Posted: 13:57 GMT+2
Tirana, 10/04/1999 (MPA) Minister of defense Akis Tsochatzopoulos will be in Albania today. Mr. Tsochatzopoulos is scheduled to visit the refugee camp and the port city of Durres where the Greek humanitarian aid, carried by the Greek Navy ship "Chios", will be unloaded.

The Greek minister of defense will have a meeting with his Albanian counterpart Luan Haidaraga and afterwards he will meet with Albanian prime minister Panteli Majko in Tirana.

[04] THE NATO BOMBING OF YUGOSLAVIA CONTINUES

    Web Posted: 13:57 GMT+2
Belgrade, 10/04/1999 (MPA) The bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO aircraft continued last night. The allied forces targeted with missiles the western regions of Belgrade, while a transmitter of the Serb television was hit near Pristina.

Meanwhile, the effort of Cypriot parliament president Spiros Kiprianou for the release of the three US soldiers, who are being held by the Serbs, has ended in failure. The meeting he had yesterday with Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic brought no positive result. Mr. Kiprianou blamed the continuing NATO bombing for the failure of his initiative.
