    Farmers mobilizations have brought transport in national and provincial roads into deadlock while bad weather conditions have intensified the huge problems. Farmers still keep blocks along the Athens-Thessaloniki highway such as Castro, Alamana, Ritsona ,Nikaia, Platikambos and Tyrnavo while snow is falling in many side roads blocked by farmers making it even more difficult for motorists. Greece-Bulgaria railway border line is open but Serres farmers have again closed Promahonas customs station. Later they will hold a meeting to decide on their further mobilizations.

    Larissa farmers, who closed all roads and side roads from 11:00-15:00 on Tuesday, insist on mobilizations. Stock breeders from the same area joined the blockade to make demands concerning their field. Nikaia farmers remain in their blocks but an effort to coordinate farmers in 12 blocks is in progress. They are expected to ask to meet with competent minister after the conclusion of the social dialogue at Zappeio.

    Serres farmers opened the border railway crossing due to harsh cold but closed the road border crossing. Thessaloniki farmers keep blocking Foinika junction while 6 tractors drove to the center of the city and handed resolution to Interior undersecretary Thodora Tzakris.

    Ioannina -Preveza road is blocked till 22:00 on Tuesday while Ahaia farmers have closed Patra- Pyrgos new highway. A group of farmers marched to Tripolis central square and handed a resolution to Fotis Hatzimihalis, secretary of Peloponnese Office. In the letter they demand support of farmers production and income and guaranteed pricing of produce and meat products

    [02] Temperatures Drop

    Harsh cold set to continue thorough the country on Tuesday while temperatures plummeted below minus 20C in some regions. Frost was reported at the early morning hours in the northern suburbs of Attica while snow chains are required along Parnitha Av. In Thessaloniki temperature dropped to zero while slight snow fell in the city center as well as in Kilkis, Beroia and Katerini. Frosty weather in central and west Macedonia creates hazards to motorists. Schools in northern parts of Ebros prefecture and the island of Samothraki remain closed due to very low temperatures.

    Lowest temperature on Monday evening was recorded in Falakro Drama -22C and in Orestiada Observatory -17.1C on Tuesday morning.
