  • [01] Doctors-Nurses to Engage in a Month

    According to the procedures of Civil Service Employment Service (ASEP) that will be completed within the next five months, 5.500 nurses and 4.500 doctors are to engage in hospitals around the country. Minister of health Mr. Dimitirs Avramopoulos stressed in NET TV Programme "Front Line" that hospital suppliers will be paid fron now on within three months while 2% of the sum saved by the National Supplying Plan will be provided to programmes for the support of mental health.

    Meantime, a meeting is to be held shortly between employees working in mental health units and minister of health.

    Mr. Avropoulos provided guarantees that funds have been found for the continuation of "Psyhargo" programme until the end of the year. According to the announcement of Ministry of Health, "the government given its political will for the continuation of "Psyhargo" programme and the entrenchment of the reform on psychiatry, despite the difficult financial conjunction, and in close co operation with minister of health Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos and minister of finance and economy Mr. Giannis Papathanasiou, ensured the immediate funding that reach 15 billion euros".

    Tomorrow, representatives of employees will meet with President of Republic and on Friday they will stage a concert in Propylaia.
