The global financial crisis has been portrayed in the recent polls carried out in Greece, since more and more citizens grow wary of economys future. A MARC poll conducted on behalf of the Ethnos tis Kyriakis Sunday paper has suggested that the Socialists (PASOK) have a 1.5 percent lead over the ruling Conservatives (ND). In particular, ND has garnered 28.9 percent, PASOK 31.3 percent, KKE (Greek Communist Party) 7 percent, SYRIZA (Coalition of the Radical Left) 10.4 percent and LAOS (Popular Orthodox Rally) 4 percent.

However, the ruling party of ND has the lead on the question "Which party do you think it would win the elections?" receiving 43.5 percent. PASOK trails with 41.9 percent. The majority of the respondents (67.9 percent) claim that the Prime Minister does not follow the policy the citizens went for, while 52.4 percent of those surveyed want an independent government, as opposed to 44.9 percent that opt for a coalition government.
