Dr. Lahls team asked students to memorise a list of words and studied their ability to recall it after an hour of playing solitaire. Asked to remember some 30 words, the volunteers were given an hour-long break before the memory test. During the break some fell asleep for six minutes, while the rest had to stay awake.
