    A fine and warm day is forecast with some cloudy patches in the west and south parts of the country. Temperatures in Athens will range between 6C to 20C and in Thessaloniki between 4C to 19 C.

    [02] Turkish plane hijack ends-passengers unharmed

    A night-long hijack of a Turkish Airways Airbus &#8211; which landed at the Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Airport for refueling shortly before midnight ended without any casualties. The hijacker , who claimed he had explosives strapped to his body, seized flight TK 160 after it took off from Konstantinopolis last night on a domestic flight to Ancara It was carrying 192 passengers and 11 crew members.

    The Chief of the Greek Police arrived at the airport shortly after the announcement of the incident to coordinate negotiations. The hijacker surrendered at 4 o clock after releasing all the passengers unharmed .He is under arrest in Greece and will appear before the public prosecutor today.

    The 20 year old hijacker has no links to any terrorist organisation nor political motives and appears to be depressed. He had initially demanded the plane to fly to Berlin or Dusseldorf , in Germany. The plane was carrying three Turkish lawmakers and other Turkish senior officials.

    Greek Public Order Minister, Mihalis Hrisohoidis congratulated the Greek Police and its chief but refused to give details of the incident

    [03] EU to establish refuge camps

    Greek Public Order Minister, Mihalis Hrisohoidis announced that at the informal EU Justice and Foreign Ministers in Veria they decided to allocate 100.000 euros for the establishment of refugee camps both in Iraq and close to the countries from which many asylum seekers originate.
