    Showers are forecast in central and northern Greece on Sunday, with possible isolated storms in eastern Macedonia and Thrace from the afternoon. The rest of the country will be hot and sunny. Winds north-northwesterly, moderate, turning strong over the sea and very strong in the northeast from the afternoon. In the northern mainland temperatures will range from 18C to 33C; on the rest of the mainland from 21C to 35C; and in the Aegean islands from 23C to 32C. Temperatures in Athens between 24C and 35C; and in Thessaloniki from 23C to 33C.

    [04] Simitis to meet with Barnier

    Prime Minister Costas Simitis and Commissioner Michel Barnier will meet tomorrow to examine ways in achieving an effective administration of the Third Community Support Framework. Mr Barnier will also meet with the ministers of Finance and PEHODE and with ATHENS 2004 President Gianna Angelopoulos &#8211; Daskalaki

    [05] Illegal immigrants&#8217; arrests

    52 illegal immigrants of various nationalities were arrested at Kymasios beach yesterday by coastal police in Mantoudi, Evia. Additionally, a crew of an Ukranian vessel that was sailing off the coast of Evia an on which 26 Iraqui illegal immigrants were on board.

    Finally, the coastal police in Aigina arrested a British slave trader and 35 illegal immigrants today.
