[03] Briefing of the Cyprus National Council by President KleridisCyprus National Council chaired by President Glafkos Kliridis convened in Geneva yesterday.President Kliridis briefed the Council on the meeting he had with the UN Secretary General's special envoy Alvaro de Soto within the context of the 5th round of proximity talks on Cyprus. [04] The Parliament passed the draftbill on the National Radio and Television CouncilThe Greek Parliament yesterday passed the draftbill regarding the National Radio and Television Council with 142 votes in favour and 123 against.The bill neither ensures transparency nor protects democracy, said the New Democracy party leader Kostas Karamanlis, while Government Spokesman Dimitris Reppas replied that the ND party was lacking arguements. [05] Prime-minister Simitis will visit RomePrime minister Kostas Simitis will pay a two day visit to Rome today in order to have talks with his Italian counterpart Juliano Amato.
