It is the government's political will to have all works in Crete completed by 2019 when elections will be held, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday said.

The prime minister noted that Crete recorded a 10 pct increase in tourist arrivals adding the island leads the upward trend of the sector.

Moreover, Tsipras reiterated that any surplus from the government fiscal efforts will be allocated to the weakest.

Earlier, Tsipras posted on Twitter that "Greece's primary sector resisted to the crisis and is on recovery course."

Tsipras, who is visiting Crete, said that the primary sector constitutes the basic pillar of a new model of productive reconstruction.
