[01] Two fires in Corfu subside, as third one breaks out
Two wildfires that broke out earlier on Friday on the north and south
of Corfu were brought under control in the afternoon but a third one
has started in the southeast, the head of the local fire department
told ANA-MPA.
Efthimis Georgakopoulos said the first two fires in Linia and Barbati
burned some forest and farm land, and efforts are now focusing on the
area of Strongyli, which is close to inhabited areas. A team of fire
fighters has been dispatched and Pezetel aircraft are throwing water on
the flames but strong winds blowing in the area are hindering their work.
[02] Power utility says three companies to continue in ADMIE tender
Power utility PPC announced on Friday that three companies out of four
that expressed interest will continue in the tender for the sale of a
24 percent stake in power grid operator ADMIE.
The companies are France's RTE International (on behalf of RTE Réseau de
Transport d'électricité), China's State Grid International Development
Limited and Italy's Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA in collaboration
with F2i SGR SpA. These companies continue to the second phase of the
tender, during which they will be called to submit binding bids.
HSBC Bank, Citigroup Global Markets and NBG Securities are acting as
financial advisors, while Rokas as legal advisor to PPC in the tendering
process for ADMIE.
