[01] Election law, constitutional revision 'proceeding as planned',
government sources say
The process of election law reform and revising the constitution was
"proceeding as planned," government sources said on Monday, after
a government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. The
meeting focused on both issues, as well as social policy matters and
the scheduling of planned legislation.
With regard to the election law and those refusing to support the
government's plan to introduce simple proportional representation, the
sources said the "problem was with the others, who are bound by their
tacticism." They also announced that public initiatives on revising the
Constitution were imminent.
The same sources noted that the tender for national television content
licences was proceeding normally and that the meeting had examined the
current stage of a series of draft bills, including those for election
law, fossil fuels, public contracts, internet crime, the social economy
and a defence ministry omnibus bill.
